By: Edwin Battaforyen

Liberia's men's senior national team head coach, Mario Marinica, has unveiled a 30-man local provisional squad for the Lone Star's initial week of training sessions starting today, February 26, 2024.

A list of additional players has also been produced and some players will be called during second week of training, while others will be called upon if the necessity arises.

The training sessions are a crucial component of the Lone Star's preparations for the upcoming double fixtures against Djibouti in the preliminary round of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

Selected from a pool identified by Marinica and his assistant Clwyd Jones, along with nominations from various clubs and the technical committee, the 30 players, including two from abroad, are currently on vacation.

The Lone Star will conduct a three-day training session at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville from March 26 to 28. Weekly sessions will precede the team's departure to Morocco for the first-leg match.

Marinica has expressed gratitude for the "level of cooperation" from everyone since his arrival in Liberia, highlighting the positive atmosphere.

In a recent release from the Liberia Football Association on Saturday, February 24, it was announced that the team's preparations received a boost with the arrival of assistant coach Ronald D. Moroka and fitness coach Chikondi Mandalasi in Liberia. The anticipation for their contributions to the team's success grows as they join the squad ahead of upcoming challenges.
