WAEC Liberia Cancel Student Camping for WASSCE Exams: Dale Gbotoe Urges Home Study for Exams Student.

The Head of the West African Examination Council in Liberia Dale Gbotoe has announced the cancellation of Students Camping before taking the National exams until further notice.

On May 12, 2024 on ECOWAS Radio, the WAEC Boss made the disclosure through an exclusive interview stating tangibles reasons why Liberian students will not be allow to camp for this year’s WASSCE Exams affecting every school across the 15 counties.

Dale Gbotoe said students should remain at their respective homes as they adequately prepare for the exam.

He said if any school found in violating the mandate of WAEC Liberia, the Academic institution should be prepared to withstand the consequences of the action. Gbotoe disclosed that the exam is set to be administered beginning may 15 of this year.

“So we don’t want any student to go at a particular place under the pretense of Camping where they will have different activities rather than studying for the Exams. No student will be allow to go any place for the entire four (4) weeks for camping and any school found violating our regulations will face our penalty students don’t necessarily have to go on camp before passing the exams” WAEC Boss Said.

The West African Examinations Council is Africa’s foremost examining body established by law to determine the examinations required in the public interest in the English-speaking West African countries, to conduct the examinations and to award certificates comparable to those of equivalent examining authorities internationally.

WAEC  Dale Gbotoe also disclose  that four of the five West African countries which include Gambia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Liberia are set for the exam excluding Ghana which will not be part of this year’s national examination process owing to the timing difference.

At the same Gbotoe has caution students and institutions involved with payment of flexibility fee which at times result in malpractices to refrain for said tradition thus stating that examiners that will be deployed will not be tolerant but rather honest while carrying on their duty.

“Candidates should go to the test hall with high level of Confidence and get away with the custom of Flexibility fees” Gbotoe Said.

He then used the occasion to encourage students writing the exam to not panic thus calling on them to muster their courage and have confidence going to face what they have undergone over scores of years.
