Min. Kruah Heads Liberia’s Tripartite Delegation To ILO Conference

Labour Minister Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah, as head of a tripartite Liberian Delegation, is in Geneva, Switzerland to attend the 112th   Session of the International Labour Conference. 
According to a Labour Ministry, members of Liberia’s Tripartite delegation to this year’s conference include: Labour Minister, Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah, Deputy Labour Minister for Manpower Planning, Hon. Steven S. Kolubah, Assistant Minister for Labour Standards, Hon. Emmanuel Zorh, Jr. and Assistant Minister for Trade Union Affairs and Social Dialogue, Hon Rufus T. Saylee.


Also included on the Liberian Delegation are: Mr. T. Nelson Williams of the Liberia Chamber of Commerce (LCC), representing Employers, while Mr. Marcus M. Blama, Secretary General of the Liberia Labour Congress is representing workers and Liberian Trade Unions.  


The Liberia Labour Minister is expected to deliver statement on the outlook of the current status of the Liberian labour sector, relative  to protection of workers and the promotion of decent work  with gender balalnce, as well creation of condusive labour environment under the current regime of President Joseph Nyumah Boakai ‘ARREST AGENDA’.
The 112th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILO) runs from 3rd June 14th, 2024 with adoption of several resolutions me member countries.


Government, employer and worker delegates from the ILO's 187 Member States will address a wide range of issues, including the protection of workers against the effects of climate change and biological hazards, the care economy and fundamental principles and rights at work. The Conference will also elect members of the ILO Governing Body for the 2024-27 term of office.


The International Labour Organization (ILO) is devoted to promoting social justice and internationally recognized human and labour rights, pursuing its founding mission that social justice is essential to universal and lasting peace.
The only tripartite U.N. agency, since 1919 the ILO brings together governments, employers and workers of 187 Member States, to set labour standards, develop policies and devise programs promoting decent work for all women and men.
While Minister Kruah is away, Deputy Labour Minister for Administration, Hon. Othello P. Mansuo will steer the affairs of the Ministry.
