Monrovia: The Making Our Children Safe Again Foundation (MOCSAF) and the Liberia Refugees Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to provide emergency primary healthcare services to Liberian returnees from Ghana.

According to the MOU, such collaboration aims to ensure that returnees have access to essential medical services through a mobile healthcare clinic during their stay at temporary transit centers across country.
MOCSA and the LRRRC, the primary goal of the MOU is to establish a collaborative partnership between LRRRC and MOCSA to support the health and well-being of returnees throughout the repatriation and resettlement processes.

It further stated that MOCSA will deploy a mobile healthcare team at designated transit centers to provide  services such as General medical consultations, screenings, and treatments as well as Referral of maternal and child health services to the County Health Teams, Referral of immunizations and vaccinations to the Ministry of Health (MOH), Health screenings and diagnostics, Basic psychological first aid in collaboration with the Red Cross, Health education and awareness programs among others.

The MOU which will be effective from June 18, 2024, until September 30, 2024, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement, both parties will collaborate to seek funding and resources necessary to implement the mobile healthcare services.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, both LRRRC and MOCSA foundation agreed to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and personal data of returnees as well as amendments to the MOU will be documented in writing and signed by authorized representatives of both parties.

It further that either MOCSA Foundation or LRRRC may terminate the MOU with a thirty-day written notice in the event of termination, both parties will ensure an orderly transition and continuation of healthcare services as much as possible.
This MOU signifies the commitment of both LRRRC and MOCSA Foundation to work collaboratively in providing essential healthcare services to Liberian returnees from Ghana, thereby supporting their health, well-being, and successful reintegration into their communities.

It can be recalled that on June 20, 2024 MOCSA ended a three (3) day treatment process for Liberian Returnees at the LRRRC site in Johnsonville just after some returnees called for the continuation of the process by MOCSA Foundation at the site.
