The wounds from Philadelphia Lonestar’s relegation have deepened in the LFA Second Division

Monrovia, Liberia: The Liberia Football Association (LFA) Second Division League has reached a critical point where clubs are determining their futures based on the league standings.

Philadelphia Lonestar, a struggling team in the Second Division League this season, continues to face increasing pressure from relegation threats due to their poor performance.

The club's most recent defeat to Gompa FC on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Practice Pitch has further dampened hopes of escaping the relegation zone anytime soon.

This match, seen as a crucial opportunity for Philadelphia Lonestar to relieve their stress in the danger zone, ended sadly with a score of 3-1 in favor of the visitors, Gompa FC.

This defeat marks the fourth consecutive loss for Philadelphia Lonestar in the second phase of the league, resulting in a significant drop in points in the standings.

In their last four league matches, the Stars have lost 2-0 to NPA Anchors, 3-1 to Downtown FC, 5-0 to Pags FC, and recently 3-1 to Gompa FC. Currently, Philadelphia Lonestar sits in 15th place out of 16 teams in the Second Division.

The team has managed to accumulate just 16 points from 20 league games this season. Their record so far shows 2 wins, 3 draws, and 15 losses.

With 10 games remaining in the current season, the club is hoping to use these matches to escape from the relegation zone.

Philadelphia Lonestar, Junior Professionals and Mighty Enforcer are all fighting to leave the danger zone behind.

The poor performance of Philadelphia Lonestar has severely undermined their chances of climbing the league standings and achieving their goal of winning the Second Division championship title this season.

The league leaders, Wologisi FC, currently have 50 points in first place, which means that even if Philadelphia Lonestar were to win their next 10 games, they could only reach a total of 46 points in the standings.
