Monrovia: Sunday, June 30, brought in an exciting moment for World Girls after clinching the Lower Women's League championship to make their return to the top-tier Liberia Football Association Upper Women's League.

The Iron Ladies, as they are affectionately called, demonstrated a superb performance against Brakay FC in their match-crowning ceremony on Sunday at the Antoinette Tubman (ATS) Stadium in Monrovia.

Talented winger Ativor Holali was on the dot and put her side in the lead with a beautiful strike. Momentum later built among fans as Ativor Holali came down with a hit track and raised the bar for World Girls to end the first half 3-0.

Fast forward after the break, actions became tense between both sides but Hawa Fatomah came into the picture with a firing strike as the Iron Ladies handicapped Brakay FC 4-0.

Coach Famata Dean's Girls picked up the 2023/2024 Lower Women's League Championship with 64 points on the League table and two games in hand.

World Girls currently lead close rivals Kneeling Warriors and Cocky FC by 15 points who have equally secured their spots to be promoted to the 2024-2025 LFA Upper Women's League.

The championship marks a significant display for Head Coach Famata Dean in getting the club back after being relegated in 2022-2023 from the top-flight league.

The move has restored the hope of many local sports lovers who yearned for World Girls' promotion to the top-flight league this season.
