Two Men Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Gang Rape of Pregnant Woman in Nimba County
Sanniquellie, Nimba County – A court in Nimba County has sentenced two men to life imprisonment for the gang rape of a 29-year-old pregnant woman.
The ruling was handed down by the Resident Judge of the 8th Judicial Circuit Court in Sanniquellie on Thursday, following an extensive court proceeding.
The convicted individuals, Emmanuel F. Saye, 26, and Emmanuel Nyanplue, 20, were employees of Loyal Protective Guard Services (LPGS), a private security firm.
They were among twelve men accused of raping the woman, who was seven months pregnant at the time of the assault.
Authorities revealed that ten other suspects managed to flee to neighboring Guinea and the Ivory Coast, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.
The fate of the survivor remains unclear, as her whereabouts have yet to be determined.
The case has sparked outrage within the community, with calls for justice and the protection of women's rights gaining momentum.
