NBC Director-General Designate Vows to Restore Professionalism and Integrity

Monrovia, Liberia – The Director General-Designate of the National Bureau of Concessions (NBC), has assured the Liberian Senate Committee on Investment and Concessions that, if confirmed, he will transform the NBC into a more professional and integrity-driven institution.

Speaking during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Committee on Investment and Concessions, Hon. Theodore Momo, a former Senator of Gbarpolu County, emphasized his commitment to enforcing the Bureau’s statutory mandate. He outlined plans to ensure compliance with concession agreements, enhance staff capacity, and collaborate with other government institutions to increase the NBC's budget. Currently, over 80% of the Bureau’s budget of USD 1.2 million is allocated to recurrent expenditures.

"I am determined to ensure that the Bureau complies with its statutory responsibilities and enforces compliance, which will not only strengthen the institution but also contribute significantly to government revenue and attract new concessions," Momo stated.

Following the hearing, Momo spoke to journalists, expressing his intention to conduct a comprehensive review of all concession agreements the government has entered into. He emphasized that strict adherence to the Bureau’s mandate would help boost Liberia's economic growth.

The Senate's decision on his confirmation is eagerly awaited as Momo pledges to lead a transformative agenda at the National Bureau of Concessions.
