LDEA Boss Abraham Kromah  Calls for Increased Budgetary Support

The newly appointed head of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Abraham Kromah, achieved a commendable score of 79 in his first operation in Sayon Town, Bushrod Island. Liberians, who are eager to see their country rid of narcotics, are lauding the new LDEA boss. With continued dedication, they believe Liberia could be free from drug trafficking within the next four years.

Col. Abraham Kromah views these accolades as motivation. In response to the overwhelming expressions of gratitude, he emphasizes the need for increased budgetary support from the Liberian government.

Col. AB Kromah said, low budgetary support to the Agency is serving as a key factor hindering the works of institution.

The LDEA boss emphasized the significance of an increment in the Agency’s budget noting that it will enhance cogency in the discharge of their duties.

Illicit drug is an epidemic affecting a significant amount of Liberian youths.

It can be recalled, Wednesday February 21 2024, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency apprehended George Ikpehehukwu popularly know as original Japan, with over LRD$5M Worth of narcotics substances on the Bushord Island.

The current budget of the LDEA stands at Twenty Six million United States Dollars(US$26M)- an amount described as “insufficient” to run the agency by Col. Kromah.

The former police 102 noted that suspected drug dealers are operating drug cartels that need to be resisted vehemently by the LDEA through vigorous networking.

According to Col. Kromah, Scanners will be place at the Roberts international Airport and the Free port of Monrovia as part of measures aimed at tracing traffickers involved in the importation of narcotic substances into the country.

He at the same time threatened to confiscate properties that will host the trafficker whenever they are arrested and Will be turn over to the Government of Liberia.

Meanwhile, Col.Abraham Kromah is calling for an internal audit at the LDEA.
