Liberty Party Set for First National Convention in Four Years

Monrovia Liberia; After years of internal challenges and political uncertainty, the Liberty Party (LP) is taking a bold step toward unity and renewal. The party has announced plans to hold its first National Convention in four years a move its leaders say will serve as a turning point in rebranding the LP and strengthening its foundation.

Speaking at a press conference in Congo Town, LP Political Leader and Grand Bassa Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence expressed optimism about the upcoming event, which is expected to bring together 120 delegates from across Liberia under the theme "Stronger Together."

"This is more than just a convention it’s a homecoming for every Liberty Party member. We want to reconnect, reflect on our journey, and pave the way for a stronger and more unified party," she said.

The convention, scheduled to take place from Friday, February 7, to Sunday, February 9, 2025, on Tubman Boulevard in Monrovia, will focus on healing divisions, strengthening party structures, and preparing for future political engagements.

For many partisans, this convention represents a fresh start. The Liberty Party has faced internal disagreements in recent years, but Karnga-Lawrence believes now is the time to turn the page. She reassured supporters that the event will provide a platform for open dialogue, collective decision-making, and appreciation for their resilience and loyalty.

The LP leader further emphasized that the gathering is not just about politicsit’s about family, teamwork, and shared vision.

"We have always been stronger together, and this convention will prove that once again," she added.

With anticipation building among LP supporters, all eyes will be on the party’s ability to emerge from this convention more unified, energized, and ready to contribute to Liberia’s political landscape.

For partisans, this is more than just a meeting it’s a chance to rebuild the Liberty Party into the force it was meant to be.
