What Causes Highway Patrol Police to Beg Taxi Drivers for Money?

Monrovia Ganta Highway: Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman has recently exposed a group of highway patrol officers for soliciting bribes from taxi drivers and other motorists. The incident occurred during his trip to Ganta, Nimba County, where he witnessed police officers harassing drivers. Concerned, he stopped to take pictures of the officers in action, bringing attention to this unethical behavior.

The situation has sparked serious questions from the public:

Are police officers being paid on time to prevent such misconduct?

Why do officers continue to beg for money both on highways and in urban areas?

Would proper and timely payment prevent police officers from engaging in bribery and harassment?

These questions have been raised by many concerned individuals who are now calling on the Police Inspector General to address these issues.

This is What the Police IG Posted.

This afternoon, while traveling back from Nimba, I witnessed a troubling scene. Some highway patrol officers were soliciting bribes from drivers, which highlights the need to address some of the critical issues affecting our force.

However, our priority remains maintaining the highest standards of service, integrity, and professionalism.

These officers have been handed over to the Professional Standards Division for further disciplinary action. We are dedicated to restoring public trust and ensuring that every officer serves with honesty, respect, and a commitment to the rule of law.”

This statement reflects the Police IG’s commitment to tackling corruption within the force and upholding the integrity of the police service.
