Supreme Court Acquits Former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott and Three Family Members of Murder

The Supreme Court of Liberia has acquitted former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott and three of her family members of all charges brought against them.

The court's decision overturns a previous conviction by Criminal Court A, where they were found guilty of murder, criminal conspiracy, and raising false alarms to law enforcement.

"Wherefore and in view of the forgoing the ruling of the lower court affirming the Jurors verdict, is hereby revised and the applicants are order free of all charges and should be immediately release"

The charges stemmed from the tragic death of Charloe Musu, a relative who was brutally killed at their Brewerville home on February 22, 2023. After months of trial, jurors had unanimously convicted Scott and her co-defendants, leading to their incarceration at the Monrovia Central Prison following their sentencing on January 9, 2024.

With the Supreme Court's ruling, Cllr Gloria Musu Scott and the others have been cleared of all charges and are now free.
