“1,563 Liberians To Be Deported from the USA, According to Latest ICE Report”

USA: The number of Liberians being deported from the United States has been steadily rising, particularly since the return of President Donald Trump. Many of these deportations involve individuals living in the U.S. without legal documentation.
As of the latest figures from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the total number of Liberians deported stands at 1,563. In comparison, Nigeria has seen 3,690 deportations.
During former President Joe Biden’s administration, there were efforts to address the immigration status of Liberians, including the extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for those who had been in the U.S. since before 2014 and the implementation of Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) for Liberians facing deportation. Despite these measures, deportation numbers continue to fluctuate, influenced by changing immigration policies, legal rulings, and international relations.
As of November 24, 2024, there are 1,445,549 noncitizens with final orders of removal on ICE’s non-detained docket. While these individuals may have final orders for deportation, various factors may prevent their removal. These include legal obstacles, issues with documentation, and humanitarian considerations.
ICE is unable to provide specific details on why certain individuals cannot be deported, but under U.S. law, noncitizens with final orders of removal may face delays or complications in the enforcement of their deportation.
