Grand Bassa Residents Mourns Pastor's Death in a Tragic Road Accident

Grand Bassa County, Liberia: An overwhelming wave of grief has swept through Grand Bassa and beyond as Liberia Tribal Baptist Convention Inc. mourns the devastating loss of one of its most leaders, Reverend Emmanuel Kerkula, in a tragic motor accident on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Reverend Kerkula, pastor of the Second Baptist Church in John-Nah Town, Electoral District #2, tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while traveling from Buchanan to Monrovia.

The fatal accident occurred shortly after he had participated in the Annual Mother’s Day Program in BIA District #2 on that Sunday, May 18, 2025.

The heartbreaking news left congregants of the church, including the community and region leaders, in profound shock.

Pastor Kerkula was known for his humility, unwavering faith, and deep love for his congregation, as his unfortunate demise has caused a painful void that words can scarcely fill.

“We have lost a shepherd, a counselor, and a father to many,” a weeping church member shared. “His presence was a blessing, and his absence is an unbearable wound.”

The Liberia Tribal Baptist Convention Inc. is appealing for prayers, compassion, and solidarity for Reverend Kerkula’s grieving family and the devastated congregation he faithfully served.

Authorities had continued the investigation into the tragic accident, while the community continued to cling to his memories, and he dedicated his life to the services of God and humanity.
