USA Adds Ghana, Morocco, Burkina Faso, and Uganda to Visa Restriction Warning List.

Monrovia, Liberia: The United States has updated its travel advisories for several African countries, adding Ghana, Morocco, Burkina Faso, and Uganda to its warning list this month.

The U.S. Department of State issued a Level 4 Travel Advisory for Burkina Faso, the highest warning level, citing an elevated risk of terrorist attacks.

The advisory warns that terrorist organizations may target various locations with little notice, using tactics such as kidnapping for ransom.

Ghana and Morocco, on the other hand, were placed under a Level 2 advisory, urging travelers to exercise increased caution.

According to a Newsweek report, Ghana’s advisory was updated on April 8, 2025, due to potential terrorist threats, while Morocco’s Level 2 status has remained unchanged since April 21, 2025, reflecting concerns over attacks in tourist-heavy areas.

Uganda was placed under a Level 3 warning, aligning with other nations like Egypt and Nigeria, where terrorism risks are noted.

Nigeria, already under a Level 3 advisory as of the latest updates from the U.S. State Department, continues to face significant security risks, including terrorism, kidnapping, and violent crime.

This updated advisory encourages Americans to exercise caution or consider postponing travel to these countries for their safety.
