Determine Girls Set to Lift 4th Successive Upper Women League Championship

By: Roland James

As the race for top tier LFA Upper Women's League championship comes to a near end, reigning Champions Determine Girls have stepped up an indomitable lead to define their title and prepare for the fourth successive championship in advance to the 2023/2024 season.

Despite two remaining matches, Determine Girls have taken a commanding lead with 54 points while second-placed Shaita Angels sit on 39 points with four remaining matches, a gap that is impossible for any major rivals to equal or surpass on the league table.

The Monrovia-based club continues to make frantic efforts in maintaining their championship since the 2020/2021 season displaying an excellent performance to their three-time championships in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and coming to retain it in 2024 which has now become imminent.

Coach Robertson Warner's girls have played 19 games winning (18), and losing (1) with no draws, while closest rival Shaita Angels played 18 games winning (12) losing (3) and drawing (3), with S. Ambassadors, Ambassadors FC, and Ravia Angels all sit close in line but are far away from the title race.

Fans of many local clubs are concerned with the fight put up by rival clubs against Determine Girls in the Liberian women's football top-flight league with side dominance of the league for the last four seasons.

But in the league competition, Determine Girls have now been seen taking the stage on the local scene in the Upper Women's League from giant Earth Angels who predominately outshined the league for eight seasons before Determine Girls could mount the stage.

Coach Warner's side will be looking forward to lifting this year's championship in one of its upcoming fixtures to reserve four Upper Women's League trophies, having won the Women's Super Cup earlier this season and the Orange Cup in 2023.
