Capitol Hill: In a bid to ignite a new era for Liberia's tourism, Bernard Blue Benson Jr., representing Montserrado County District #17, has unveiled an ambitious legislative proposal before the House of Representatives.
The proposed bill seeks to establish the Liberia National Tourism Authority, a transformative initiative set to replace the existing Departments of Tourism and Cultural Affairs while amending relevant laws outlined in the Public Authorities Law.
Championing the Liberia National Tourism Authority Act of 2024, Representative Benson underscores its pivotal role in tapping into Liberia's rich cultural tapestry and natural splendor to allure visitors from near and far. The envisioned authority promises to invigorate economic growth, safeguard cultural treasures, and propel national advancement.
"The creation of the Liberia National Tourism Authority represents a strategic consolidation of efforts to elevate Liberia's profile as a global tourist destination, fostering investment, regulating tourism endeavors, and ensuring sustainable management of our natural treasures," emphasizes Representative Benson.
