The Board Chairperson of Women Empowerment for Self-Employment (WE4SELF), Madam Grace Scotland-Briamah, has called for increased support for Liberian women in peace-building efforts at the CSW68 High-Level Meeting.
Madam Scotland-Briamah spoke at the United Nations Peace Building Commission's high-level meeting, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City as part of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68).
Madam Scotland-Briamah emphasized the critical need for sustainable support for peace-building institutions in Liberia, particularly highlighting the indispensable role of UNWOMEN and women peace builders in fostering lasting peace and development.
Speaking on behalf of Liberian civil society organizations (CSOs) and women-led NGOs, Madam Scotland-Briamah underscored the importance of increased donor assistance in empowering these vital stakeholders.
She emphasized that by supporting women-led NGOs, CSOs, and other peace actors, Liberia can achieve sustainable peace and empower its women, thereby fostering inclusive growth and development.
