Foreign Minister Shares Plans in Strengthening Integrity for Passport Issuance

Monrovia: The Minister of Foreign Affairs who is the Dean of Cabinets has made updates relating to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recent position on Diplomatic, official, Service passport withdrawal and foreign relation matters.

Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti provided updates on some key issues that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is presently working on.

The Foreign minister shared the Ministry’s view of strengthening the integrity for passport issuing in the country.

Minister Nyanti further indicated that she has set up a team at the Ministry that has been engaging massively with those who have six years Privilege passports, which is Diplomatic official and Service passports, she however, indicated that the team at the ministry will continue to work with all those who are entitled to those passports as well as issuing Replacements in a timely manner.

 

Foreign Minister Nyanti at the same time narrated that the team which had been set up by her has done a great job for the Republic of Liberia in changing the trajectory for sustainable development.

According to her, the team had achieved over sixty-one (61) percent results of passport retuning as well as privilege passports being handed in and receiving their passports at the Ministry.

Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti mentioned as of April 5, 2024 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received One Hundred and Fifteen (115) diplomatic passports, thirty-nine (39) Official Passports, and  seven-six (76) Service passports thus ensuring those who were eligible of    having them get them in time.
