Edith Gongloe Weh Urges President Boakai to Uphold the Rule of Law

Nimba Liberia: Edith Gongloe Weh, a potential candidate for the Nimba County By-Election, has called on President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to prioritize respect for the rule of law as a hallmark of his leadership.

Speaking on a local platform, Madam Weh stressed the importance of governance grounded in legal principles, stating, “It is prudent for any government to uphold the rule of law. Without it, no country can succeed.

She highlighted the necessity of creating a solid foundation for governance, which includes ensuring that competent and ethical individuals are placed in key positions of authority.

“Setting a solid platform as a government is essential. This means making sure the right people serve in leadership roles within the administration,” Gongloe Weh added.

Whyee further criticized what she described as major missteps by the Boakai administration, citing specific instances of poor decision-making.

We have seen the failure of the asset recovery team, the mismanagement of funds for the president’s inauguration, and questionable appointments within the government. These are troubling signs,”she remarked.

Madam Weh urged the Boakai administration to correct its course and lead with transparency, accountability, and adherence to the rule of law.
