Capitol Hill: At long last, the ministry of Finance and Development Planning has submitted the 2024 draft national budget to the 55th legislature.
Previously, MFDP submitted US 625 million dollars to the legislature, the amount in which Margibi county distrcit #3 Representative Ellen Attoh Wreh requested that it be sent back to the Executive for Realignment with President Joseph Boakai's ARREST agenda.
But on Thursday, March 14, 2024, the ministry of finance and development planning through its Minister and Deputy for administration the amount of US 692 Million to cover the 2024 draft national budget year
The presentation was made by Finance minister Boima Kamara to House Deputy Speaker, Thomas Fallah for review and subsequent passage by that august body.
Receiving the draft national budget, deputy house speaker Thomas Fallah assured the executive that the House will properly scrutinize the budget and ensure that it touches every sector of the Country.
The 2024 draft national budget comes at a time when the 55th national legislature embarked on its 1st quarterly break and is expected to return in May of this year.
Thomas Fallah therefore thanked minister Kamara and his team for their continuous, cordial working relationship with the legislature, calling for more coordinating efforts that will move the country forward.
