House’s Joint Investment Committee to Begin Public Hearings on Concession Agreements

Monrovia, Liberia: Following several meetings with stakeholders in the investment sector, the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Investment, chaired by Representative Foday E. Fahnbulleh, is set to commence a comprehensive review of all concession agreements across Liberia.

According to the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Robert Haynes, the Committee will hold its first public hearings this Friday, March 21, 2025, with two major mining companies—Bao Chico Mining Company and Bea Mountain Mining Company—scheduled to appear.

The hearing for Bao Chico Mining Company will begin at 10:00 AM, while Bea Mountain Mining Company will appear at 2:00 PM.

Both sessions will take place at the House of Representatives Hearing Room in the Capitol Building.

Director Haynes said the hearings will be open to the general public, and the Committee extends invitations to media institutions, civil society organizations, industry stakeholders, and the general public to attend and participate.

This initiative underscores the Committee’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and ensuring that concession agreements are in the best interest of the Liberian people and in alignment with national development goals.
