Liberia Internal Affairs Minister appoints several chiefs offices in Lofa County.

According to the Local Government Act of 2018 , the following positions should be elected in the various local government units: Paramount Chief,

                  Lofa County correspondent J. Mason Kollie

Clan Chief  and General Town Chief, Superintendent, County Administrative Officer,County Finance Officer, County Development Officer, City Mayor, and Commissioner (Townships and Boroughs) shall be appointed by the President with the consent of the Senate.

Contrary to this Act, Liberia Internal Affairs Minister and his delegation on Tuesday December 3,2024 entered Lofa on a County tour to appoint and subsequently induct into offices several chiefs in all districts in Lofa.

New Chief appointed by Internal Affairs minister Hon. Nyumaline.

The appointment of chiefs started in Zorzor district,Quardu Bondi, Voinjama, and Kolahun Districts where Paramount chiefs, Clan Chiefs, Sectional chiefs and other local officials were appointed by the Internal Affairs Minister Hon. Nyumaline.

According to him, those appointed will serve until 2026 before election.
