Ministry of Commerce Disposes 4,000 Bags of Unfit Rice

The Ministry of Commerce has disposed of 4,000 bags of rice deemed unfit for public consumption at the Wein Town dumpsite, according to Inspector General Dor Cooper.

During a briefing, Inspector Cooper clarified that the action was necessary to address public concerns.

“The disposal was done to dispel rumors circulating among citizens about the quality of the rice,” Cooper stated.

He further explained that the ship carrying the rice had completed its unloading process, during which the good-quality rice was separated from the spoiled rice.

 “The ‘kit rice’ has been sorted out from the ‘swept rice,’ ensuring only edible rice reaches the public,” he added.

Inspector Cooper emphasized the Ministry's commitment to ensuring food safety and maintaining public trust in the nation’s food supply chain.
