Monrovia, Liberia- In a shocking turn of events, the Ministry of Transport building in Monrovia was ravaged by a massive fire in the early hours of Monday morning. The source of the fire is still unknown.

The incident led authorities in puzzle as they struggle to investigate the incident.

The Ministry of Transport (MOT), a crucial institution responsible for overseeing the country's transportation infrastructure and policies, has suffered significant damage due to the fire outbreak. The flames quickly spread throughout the building, engulfing several floors and causing parts of the structure to collapse.

The degree of the damage is yet to be determined, but initial reports suggest that the damage is extensive. Eyewitnesses reported thick cloud of smoke billowing from the Ministry of Transport building, visible from several blocks away.

Panic and confusion gripped the surrounding area as people rushed to find safe zones, fearing the fire could spread to nearby buildings. The Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS) arrived promptly, deploying multiple fire trucks and firefighters to combat the blaze.

Despite the fearless efforts by the LNFS, the fire proved to be a formidable challenge. The intensity of the flames and the building's complex layout hindered their progress.

As the fire raged on, concerns grew about the potential loss of critical documents and records stored within the Ministry of Transport. The ministry plays a pivotal role in managing transportation policies, licenses, and permits, making the preservation of its records crucial for the continuity of operations.

Efforts are underway to salvage any remaining documents and secure vital information.  Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire, with experts from the Fire Service of Liberia working diligently to determine the source.

The burning of MOT brings to two in less than two months.
