President Boakai Signs $880 Million FY 2025 Budget into Law
Monrovia Liberia: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has signed the National Budget for Fiscal Year 2025 into law. The budget, totaling 880,661,874 million U.S. dollars, was signed at the President’s Rehab Office in Paynesville City.
In his remarks, President Boakai expressed satisfaction with the budget’s timely approval and stressed the need for quick action. “This budget is not just numbers; it’s our commitment to improving the lives of our people and meeting national goals,” he said.
The budget was approved by Liberia’s National Legislature on December 20, 2024. With the President’s signature, it is now the official financial plan for the government’s programs and activities for the coming year.
The FY 2025 budget focuses on growing the economy, improving public services, building infrastructure, and creating opportunities for all Liberians.
The signing ceremony was attended by key officials, including Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung and Deputy Minister Bill McGill Jones of the Ministry of Finance.
As the government prepares to implement the budget, President Boakai urged everyone to work together to ensure the funds benefit all Liberians.
