PSA Oxygen Plants Commissioned in Four Counties to Boost Liberia’s Health Sector

South East Liberia: The Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants have been successfully installed and commissioned in Grand Kru, Grand Gedeh, Lofa, and Nimba counties, providing a significant boost to Liberia's healthcare system.

These newly installed plants will supply medical-grade oxygen to hospitals, a vital resource for treating critical respiratory conditions and responding to health emergencies.

The initiative is a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Health, the Government of Liberia, the Global Fund Emergency Response, Plan International Liberia as Principal Recipient, and county administrations.

The PSA oxygen plants are part of a broader commitment to strengthening Liberia’s health infrastructure and resilience, particularly in the face of crises like the COVID-19 pandemic and other respiratory diseases.

“These plants represent a major step forward in improving healthcare services in Liberia,” the release said.

The project is funded by the Global Fund Emergency Response and implemented by Plan International Liberia, ensuring that the installation and operational training meet international standards.

Beyond providing oxygen, the facilities will serve as models for similar initiatives nationwide, promoting sustainability and national ownership of healthcare advancements.
