Security Remains a Challenge: Man, 20 Looses LRD$90,000.00 To Hijackers in Broad Daylight.

Red light: frustration captured the face of an innocent young man after being hijacked by unscrupulous criminals in the commercial hub of Paynesville. This happened during the early morning hours of Friday, February 2, 2024 where he had gone to withdraw money from a local MTN agent for his mini house project.

Explaining his ordeal to Knewsonline.com Maximum Beyan, early 20 noted that he entered a local Lonestar office to withdraw the sum of Forty Thousand Liberian Dollars (LRD$40,000) transaction and was turned down due to insufficient cash and was referred to a local agent posted at the front of the GSM office where he did his transaction.

Beyan explained that after the transaction with the local mobile money agent, he later entered a Tricycle (Kekeh) while heading for the purchasing of bricks for his project in Telecom Community in Paynesville.

He stated ‘’ upon entering the Tricycle (Kekeh), two additional persons, one left, another right sat along while another sat at the front with the rider. We were asked by the rider to allow him drop a load along the road after which we all agreed not knowing that I have entered ‘’ One Chance because there were goods at the trunk."

He narrated that while on their way the Kekeh rider took the opposite lane with the saying ‘’ your please allow me drop those goods along the road.”

He stated that he later saw himself being relocated to another isolated direction where he was intercepted by another group of four and they jointly beat and robbed him of his LRD$90,000 using punches, knife and gun.

“When we got around EXSECON junction, the other guy put knife on my side, telling me that I should give them the money I had on me and I said I didn’t have money but they said that if I don’t give them the money, they would kill me. They later punched me on my neck and I went down to the ground at which time they forcefully took my back bag, took out the money that was packaged in a plastic, drop my empty bag and rode away.

I remember the guys who sat with me clearly and the service name on the Kekeh (Mother Blessing), yellow in color, he revealed.

Maximum Beyan later told knewsonline.com reporter that he has reported the matter to the National Police, zone 5 detail and he was requested to alert the Police where and whenever he sees any of the hijackers.
