SUA Issues 48-Hour Ultimatum to William VS Tubman University Over Student Suspensions and Politics Ban

HARPER, Maryland – The Students Unification Alliance (SUA), a political student group at William VS Tubman University (WVSTU) in Harper City, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the university administration demanding the immediate reversal of a ban on student politics and the suspension of 14 students. The students were suspended early Tuesday morning, December 5, 2024, for what the university described as "disorderly conduct."
The university's official release stated that the suspended students violated Article 11.0 of the Student Code of Conduct, specifically sections 11.13 and 11.14, regarding unauthorized presence on campus and disruptive behavior. The suspended students, representing various colleges within the university, include Paul Blanyon (College of Engineering and Technology), Jefferson Wah (College of Management and Administration), and others from disciplines like Arts and Sciences, Health Sciences, and Education.
In response, SUA members gathered at the university administration building, denouncing the suspensions and calling for the removal of the ban on student politics. The student body has given the university administration a 48-hour deadline to act, threatening to disrupt the upcoming final exams scheduled for Monday, December 9, 2024, if their demands are not met.
The university's administration has not specified the duration of the suspension, and SUA insists that the students' actions were unjustly penalized.
In a bid to address the growing tension, Dr. Erskine Hne David, the Director of Enrollment and Management, is expected to address the situation on the "Drive Home Show" this afternoon at 4 PM on various radio stations in Pleebo City, where the University has a huge percentage of her students residing.
