Unknown Young Man’s Body Found in Drainage Near SKD

Paynesville, Liberia: A young man’s lifeless body was found early Early Sunday morning march 2, 2025 in a drainage near the entrance of the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex. Witnesses say they saw the man sitting at the same spot the day before, shaking and looking unwell.

One bystander mentioned seeing him tremble while playing nearby but didn’t think much of it at the time. Now, it’s heartbreaking to see the man in such a tragic state. As people passed by, many stopped to look and try to identify the deceased.

This discovery is part of a growing number of mysterious and violent deaths that have been happening in Paynesville and other parts of Liberia in recent months. Last month, a 14-year-old boy was stabbed and killed in Brewerville during an argument over change. In January, an 8-year-old girl named Siah John was brutally murdered, and her body was found in an unfinished building behind Kintoma Hill. She had multiple injuries, and there were signs of mutilation. Musu P. Kanneh, a 20-year-old woman, has been charged in connection with her death.

Other similar deaths have also been reported in different parts of the country. In Voinjama City, a 45-year-old woman, known as “Yarmah,” was found mutilated in a similar way, which has increased fears of a pattern of violence. In Brewerville, the Liberia National Police (LNP) investigated the murder of a pregnant teenager named Angel T. Weah. Her body was discovered in an unfinished building, and her boyfriend, Samuel Brown (also known as Boi Cracky), confessed to being involved in her death and said he had accomplices.

There has also been violence within families and institutions. In Paynesville, a woman killed her three-year-old daughter. In Redlight, a local businessman named Hassan Jalloh was allegedly murdered by members of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). Despite public outcry, no one has been held accountable in Jalloh’s case. Additionally, a 19-year-old murder suspect was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a local police cell, raising serious concerns about the safety and accountability of law enforcement.
