Black-Man Warrior Football Club Wins FA Cup in Debut Final

Paynesville, Liberia: The title chase for the 2024-2025 Liberian Football Association (FA) Cup, branded as the Orange Cup, came to an end on Sunday, April 28, 2025, at the famous Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium, with Black Man Warrior FC narrowly winning against their First Division counterparts LSCR FC on penalty kicks to clinch their first FA trophy in their debut season reaching the final.

The Warriors, as they are affectionately called, took the first-half lead in the Grand Final through a close-range strike by Prince Mantor, but LSCR FC returned energetic after the break and responded through their goal puncher Emmanuel Flomo to level the score at 1-1 in full time.

The result sent both sides to extra time, but nothing could change the scoreline until Black Man Warriors took advantage of the penalty kicks to nail LSCR FC 3-1 before hundreds of spectators at the SKD Sports Stadium in Paynesville City.

The trophy win has not only added to the title archive of the club but also secured Black Man Warrior their first slot to represent Liberia in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The trophy win also qualifies Black-Man Warrior to face Liberia Football Association First Division Champions FC Fassell in the 2024-2025 LFA men's Super Cup match.

The FA Cup trophy marked a milestone achievement in the history of the Monrovia-based club, as the highest contested championship in her debut season in the First Division.

This win also presents an opportunity for the club to feature on the international scene in the pending CAF Confederation Cup preliminaries for Liberia.

Coach Sam Chebli's Black-Man Warrior ended in 9th place in the just-ended 2024-2025 LFA First Division season, collecting 33 points from 26 league games.

The club lost both legs to the Orange Cup (FA Cup) runner-up, LSCR FC, but overturned the deficit in the crucial final match.

As the club looks forward to both the CAF Confederation Cup and the LFA men's Super Cup, Coach Sam Chebli will now begin to further strengthen his sides to take on the journeys as they prepare for the next season.
