Grand Kru Superintendent Establishes Anti-Drug Female's Taskforce to Lead Fight Against Narcotic

Barclayville City, Grand Kru County: Aimed at tackling the proliferation of drugs, Superintendent Antoinette Nimely of Grand Kru County has announced significant initiatives geared toward combating the rampant use of narcotic substances within the county.
In collaboration with the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) and local authorities, Superintendent Nimely vowed to take decisive actions to address the drug crisis affecting Grand Kru, particularly the youth in the gold mining camps.
Making the disclosure on Sunday, May 4, 2025, Superintendent Nimely announced the establishment of a Women's Task Force dedicated to raising public awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse.
The task force, according to her, will focus more on enlightening the community about the health risks associated with narcotics and the broader societal implications, especially for the youth.
Superintendent Nimely emphasized her commitment to eradicating the influence of narcotics in Grand Kru, saying, "My leadership will leave no stone unturned in the holistic fight against narcotic substances."
She stressed that drug abuse is not just destroying the lives of youth but also posing significant risks to the community at large, resulting in a cycle of despair and violence.
The Superintendent has charged the anti-drug task force with a clear mandate: to support individuals struggling with addiction in their journey toward becoming contributing members of society.
Acknowledging the difficulties in transforming individuals addicted to drugs, she called for consolidated strategies and community-based engagement.
In this direction, Superintendent Nimely has issued an Executive Order directing the LDEA to dismantle all drug hubs and ghettos throughout Grand Kru. Her directive mandates the collaboration of joint security agencies to ensure the arrest of any individuals found harboring drug dealers, emphasizing that there would be no compromise in the fight against narcotics.
She urged community leaders to collaborate with the Women's Taskforce and security forces to implement stronger measures to establish a drug-free Grand Kru County.
Superintendent Nimely warned that any community leader who undermines these efforts would face legal repercussions, reinforcing the importance of community accountability in the drug prevention initiative.
Through these measures, Superintendent Antoinette Nimely aims to confront the drug crisis head-on, fostering a united front between government, law enforcement, and community members to promote a healthier and safer Grand Kru County.
The establishment of the female task force will mark a significant step towards combating the negative impacts of drug abuse and restoring hope for the youth and communities affected by narcotic substances within the region.
