MoFA Declares Recall of Diplomatic, Official, and Service Passports

Monrovia- The Government of Liberia, under the protection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its minister H.E. Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti,on Monday March 18 declared with immediate effect the recall of all diplomatic, official, and service passports. 

The directive that is applied to all holders of diplomatic , official and service passports, called on individuals possessing these passports to without delay link with either the legal department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the designated Technical Team led by Mr. Garrison Koikoi Jallah . This step is crucial to ensure compliance with the government's directive and to bring about the necessary procedures associated with the recall.

The decision to recall these passports underlines the government's commitment to support national security, ensuring the integrity of travel documentation, and maintaining diplomatic protocols. It is also inline with the ongoing efforts to construct administrative processes and enforce the efficiency of passport issuance and management systems.

Moreover the Foreign Ministry has assured affected individuals of the necessary support and guidance that will be provided throughout the recall process for a smooth insurance of passports. The ministry made it clear that any inquiries or concerns regarding the recall of passports can be directed to the above mentioned channels for quick assistance and clarification.
The government is asking all affected passport holders to cohere to the instructions provided and to cooperate fully with the appointed authorities to facilitate a smooth and orderly recall process. Failure to work inline with this directive may result in legal punishment or hindering travel arrangements.

The Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reaffirms its commitment to make sure the integrity and security of travel documents to safeguard the interests of its citizens and upholding international diplomatic norms.

However the U.S. Embassy welcomes the latest measure taken by the Government of Liberia to ensure all diplomatic, official, and service passport holders meet official eligibility requirements.  
The Foreign Minister’s commitment to address the issue of fraudulent travel documents advances not just Liberia’s national security but that of the international community.
