“Govt Launches ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development”
Monrovia, Liberia – The Government of Liberia has announced the launch of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID) and the County Development Agendas (CDAs). This landmark event is scheduled for January 15 in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.
President Joseph Nyumah Boakai, Sr., will preside over the unveiling ceremony, showcasing Liberia’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive development. The ARREST Agenda (2025–2029) provides a strategic framework designed to address the nation’s most pressing challenges and foster equitable growth across all sectors.
The agenda focuses on six key areas: Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation & Health, and Tourism. Special attention is given to empowering marginalized and vulnerable communities, ensuring that no one is left behind.
The ARREST Agenda was developed through extensive consultations held in 2024, involving stakeholders from all 15 counties, including government officials, the private sector, civil society, academia, local communities, and international partners. This inclusive approach aimed to reflect the aspirations and priorities of Liberians, particularly those in underserved areas.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, the event will feature discussions on the strategic priorities and implementation of the AAID and CDAs. Attendees will include government officials, local leaders, and representatives of Liberia’s development partners, underscoring the collaborative nature of this initiative.
President Boakai’s keynote address will highlight the importance of national unity, collective effort, and shared responsibility in achieving Liberia’s development goals. He is expected to outline his vision for a prosperous Liberia where all citizens can thrive regardless of their background or location.
