Haaland Calls City’s Season ‘Boring’ – Eyes FA Cup Redemption

Manchester City's Striker Erling Haaland has labelled the club's campaign in the 2024-2025 season as "boring" and "horrific" but says the team can cap it by winning the FA Cup on Saturday against Crystal Palace.

It is City's last chance for silverware this season. The citizens have missed out on retaining their Premier League crown, losing it to Liverpool this season, bowing out of the UEFA Champions League and Carabao Cup, with the FA Cup being their last hope.

Pep Guardiola's side run of one win in nine Premier League games between November and December saw City lose pace at the top and drop out of the early title race. Manchester City is currently seated 4th with 65 points on the English Premier League table, with two games left to end the 2024-2025 season.

Erling Haaland told the BBC Sports ahead of the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace at Wembley: "This season has been tough. It is not nice to lose so many games. It is boring and not fun. That's why we need to finish well and get a trophy."

The Norwegian had missed seven games through injury, having sustained an ankle problem against Bournemouth in an FA Cup quarter-final, before making his return in last Saturday's 0-0 draw at Southampton.

Haaland has netted 30 goals in all competitions this season but has been frustrated by his performances in front of goal, having netted 52 times in his debut season (2022-23) and 38 goals last term.
