Healthcare Disrupted in Bong as Phebe Hospital Staff Stage Go-Slow Action

SUAKOKO, Bong County: Activities at Phebe Hospital have significantly slowed as health workers maintain a go-slow action, affecting normal operations at the facility.

Several wards and units are now operating with limited services. Some patients have reportedly left the hospital, while families were seen moving sick relatives to other clinics and health centers.

Hospital is one of the main referral hospitals in Central Liberia, serving Bong and nearby counties. The situation is creating concern for patients who depend on the hospital for emergency and specialized care.

The workers’ action is said to be linked to complaints about salary issues and internal administrative tensions. The staff are reportedly demanding changes, including the reassignment of certain senior officials.

Efforts by relevant authorities to address the situation have so far not produced a final resolution.

Residents in Bong County and surrounding areas are calling for urgent intervention to restore full services at the hospital as the go-slow action continues.
