President Boakai Shines on Global Stage, Wins Top Honor at MEDays Forum in Morocco

Tangier, Morocco:  President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has been decorated with one of the highest honors of the MEDays Forum, receiving the prestigious Grand Prix Award during the event’s 17th edition in Tangier.

The award, presented by the influential Amadeus Institute, places President Boakai among a select group of global leaders recognized for shaping the future of governance, peace, and development across the Global South.

Forum organizers praised the Liberian President for what they described as clear leadership, democratic steadfastness, and a renewed push for Africa’s influence in the international arena.

They highlighted his role in promoting stability, nation-building, and cross-regional cooperation—goals central to the annual MEDays gathering.

The ceremony, held at the iconic Palais des Arts et de la Culture, brought together leaders, diplomats, and policy experts from around the world.

Boakai: “This Honor Belongs to Liberia and Africa”

Accepting the award, President Boakai extended gratitude to the Amadeus Institute and the Kingdom of Morocco. He emphasized that the recognition symbolizes the determination, resilience, and rising aspirations of both Liberians and Africans.

“This honor underscores the importance of Africa’s contribution in shaping a fairer global order,” Boakai said.

Liberia stands ready to join hands with partners to build a future rooted in peace, justice, and shared prosperity.”

MEDays: The Global South’s Most Influential Platform

Often dubbed the “Davos of the Global South,” the MEDays Forum draws presidents, policymakers, economists, and diplomats to debate global tensions, emerging challenges, and cooperative solutions for sustainable development.

President Boakai’s recognition further cements Liberia’s growing diplomatic visibility and his administration’s commitment to amplifying Africa’s collective voice.
