Grand Gedeh Eminent Citizens Hail Boakai Over Christopher Bailey’s Appointment As County Superintendent

Eminent citizens of Grand Gedeh County have strongly applauded President Joseph Nyumah Boakai for appointing Christopher Bailey as Superintendent of Grand Gedeh County, describing the decision as a major step toward advancing good governance, reconciliation, and development in the county.

The citizens, through their spokesperson Watson Chelley, said President Boakai deserves appreciation for recognizing the leadership potential of Bailey and entrusting him with the responsibility of overseeing the affairs of Grand Gedeh County.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Watson Chelley said the appointment has generated excitement and renewed optimism among citizens across the county. He said Bailey’s selection demonstrates the President’s confidence in his ability to provide visionary and development-oriented leadership.

Chelley said, The appointment of Christopher Bailey was a well-considered decision, and we are confident that he will adequately demonstrate the confidence President Boakai has placed in him.

The group described Bailey as one of Grand Gedeh County’s productive sons, noting that his leadership record, commitment to good governance, development initiatives, and reconciliation are among the qualities that make him suitable for the position.

The eminent citizens further commended President Boakai for what they described as his continued recognition of sons and daughters of Grand Gedeh County for important national responsibilities. They specifically referenced several Grand Gedeans serving in senior positions within the government.

Among those mentioned are Cllr. Neto Zarzay Lighe, Sr., Commissioner of the Liberia Maritime Authority; Hon. Eric Ceekay Saye, Deputy Managing Director for Operations at the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company; Hon. Peter Solo, Director General of the National Lottery Authority; Hon. T. Wilson Gaye, Deputy Managing Director for Administration at the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation; and Hon. Alex Grant, Commissioner of the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission.

Watson Chelley said Grand Gedeh County is not only known for its hospitality but also for its culture of gratitude, adding that the county appreciates President Boakai for entrusting its citizens with responsibilities that allow them to contribute to Liberia’s development.

Chelley concluded that the citizens are hopeful that Superintendent Christopher Bailey will justify the confidence placed in him by President Boakai and use his tenure to promote peace, unity, good governance, and meaningful development throughout Grand Gedeh County.
