LRA Achieves Historic US$1 Billion Revenue Milestone

The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has made history by collecting more than US$1 billion in domestic revenue for the first time since Liberia’s founding.

According to information published on the LRA’s website, the authority’s total revenue collection stands at US$1,000,479,141.45.

The milestone marks a significant achievement in Liberia’s efforts to strengthen domestic revenue mobilization and reduce reliance on external financing.

The increased revenue is expected to support government efforts to fund national development priorities, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other essential public services.

The achievement also underscores the importance of tax compliance and the contributions of businesses, taxpayers, and other stakeholders to the country’s economic growth.

As the LRA celebrates the historic accomplishment, attention will now turn to sustaining revenue growth, strengthening accountability, and ensuring that increased domestic collections translate into meaningful improvements in the lives of Liberians.

The authority described the achievement as the first of its kind in Liberia’s history.
