House Speaker Koon Leads Lawmakers in Farewell to Dedicated Legislative Administrator Deputy Chief Clerk, Mr. C. Cormicks Chea Sr.

Monrovia Liberia: The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Richard Nagbe Koon, along with members of the 55th Legislature, has paid a solemn and heartfelt tribute to the late Deputy Chief Clerk, Mr. C. Cormicks Chea Sr., whose passing marks a significant loss to the administrative core of the Liberian Legislature.

During the funeral rites held in his honor, Speaker Koon described Mr. Chea as “a dedicated public servant, a meticulous administrator, and a man of integrity who served the House with distinction.” He added, “Mr. Chea’s absence will be deeply felt—not only within these legislative chambers but by everyone who had the privilege to know and work with him. He will be sorely missed.”

Mr. Chea, who served as Deputy Chief Clerk, was widely respected for his professionalism and unwavering commitment to the principles of order, transparency, and institutional efficiency. 

His contributions were vital to the smooth operation of the House’s legislative processes and daily administrative functions.

Lawmakers joined Speaker Koon in attending the burial ceremony at St. Moses Cemetery on the Bomi Highway, where they extended their condolences to the grieving Chea family and reflected on Mr. Chea’s enduring legacy.

“Our hearts go out to the Chea family during this time of profound loss,” said Hon. P. Mike Jury. “His memory and impact will live on in the annals of this Legislature.”

In recognition of his years of dedicated service, the House of Representatives has pledged to honor Mr. Chea’s legacy by upholding the values he championed—integrity, humility, and a steadfast dedication to public service.
