Liberian Promoter JBizz Voices Frustration Over CIC’s No-Show at December Events

Monrovia Liberia: John Greaves, widely known as JBizz, a prominent Liberian international entertainment promoter and podcast host, has publicly expressed his disappointment over the absence of Liberian music sensation CIC at several events he organized in late December 2024.

JBizz, who manages African Entertainment USA, shared his frustrations during a recent podcast on January 21, 2025, highlighting the challenges he faced in getting CIC to attend his events in Liberia.

In the podcast, JBizz detailed his efforts to secure CIC’s presence, recounting numerous attempts to reach out to the artist.

He expressed feeling deliberately overlooked, despite his unwavering support for CIC during his 2024 U.S. tour.

According to Jbizz, he attended all of CIC’s events in the U.S. and even assisted with the artist's wardrobe.

The tour, which spanned several states including Washington D.C., marked a significant milestone in CIC’s career.

"I went to Liberia and I had three events. CIC only posted one of my events on his story and didn't attend any of them," JBizz lamented.

CIC, who captured the hearts of diverse audiences during his most anticipated U.S. tour in October 2024, has been at the center of public discourse due to his absence at JBizz’s events.

The Liberian international promoter who has been associated with African Entertainment since 2021, holds a huge position as the USA manager of the leading Pan-African media firm.

His ordeal with CIC has sparked concerns among the U.S. based Liberian entertainment community, pointing out the underlying issues within Liberia's entertainment industry.

The situation has ignited substantial public debate, with many citing the lack of support among Liberian entertainers as a factor hindering the industry’s growth.

Social media platforms have been bustling with varying opinions.

One user commented:

"This should not be strange. People back home don't support those from overseas. We always support them when they come to the U.S., but there’s no love in return."

However, not all responses have been sympathetic towards JBizz. Another social media user, perceived to be addressing JBizz’s claims, argued for the importance of professionalism and self-control. "It’s unnecessary to make this public. CIC didn’t take aj loan that he refused to pay back. It sounds like they only helped him because they had an upcoming event. If they invited him, what was his response? CIC is an artist, not an event promoter or visitor," the user stated.

As the discussion unfolds, there is a growing call for unity and mutual support within the Liberian entertainment industry.

Many believe that a more collaborative approach is essential to promoting and sustaining Liberian music and culture on both local and international stages.
