How A Liberian Rapper TK WILL Was Killed In US Police Custody

Monrovia Liberia: TK WILL a Liberian rapper, was killed on April 4, 2025 when a Columbus, Ohio police officer pressed his knee on Will's neck for about 9 1/2 minutes while he was handcuffed and pleading that he don't want to die.
Tk Will's death occured at the hospital few days after the police brutality.
Prior to his death it was captured on Security footage, a video and official documents show how a series of actions by the officers turned fatal.
According to initial reports, TK Will was living in the U.S. with his wife who order his arrest identify as Meleca Kamba, with whom he had been experiencing serious marital challenges.
The rapper had previously taken to social media multiple times to open up about alleged domestic abuse and emotional struggles in his marriage.
In one of his live videos, TK Will revealed that after being brought to the U.S. from Liberia under asylum claims, his life quickly turned into what he described as “emotional torment.”
He claimed that he had been mistreated not only by Meleca Kamba his wife, but also by her children.
“I came here hoping for a better life, but I’ve known nothing but pain,” he shared in a previous emotional post.
The incident would lead to worldwide protests, as Liberians some of which have already turned violent on early saturday morning April 5 2025 taking the streets demanding justice.
The situation of Tk Will is similar to George Floyd's and it dipicts reexamination of racism and policing in the U.S.
The Liberian music industry is now mourning this tragic and untimely lost of the rising star, TK Will.
In the heart-wrenching video, TK Will can be heard crying out in pain and fear while being restrained.
“I beg you, what did I do? Please don’t kill me. Please…” he pleads, as the officers appear to have him in a chokehold.
Liberian entertainers have taken to social media to express their grief and call for justice, using hashtags like
#JusticeForTKWill and #SayHisName.
Toward the peak of his music career in 2017, TK Will collaborated with fellow Liberian superstar Christoph The Change on several hit tracks, including "Your Own" and "Too Much."
These collaborations played a significant role in elevating TK Will’s presence in the music industry and cementing his reputation as one of Liberia’s most impactful voices.
The narrative surrounding his death are still under investigation as the Liberian community in the US awaits American authorities to officially release a statement or identify the officers involved.
