Margibi University is set to hold its highly anticipated 3rd Commencement Convocation on February 22, 2025, after a lengthy dispute between the University President and members of the Board of Trustees was temporarily resolved. 

The issue arose due to concerns from Board members regarding alleged disrespect from the University President, which led to their calls for the cancellation of the upcoming graduation ceremony.

A day-long meeting, lasting over four hours, was held to address the dissatisfaction and tensions. The intervention of the county caucus played a crucial role in facilitating dialogue between the University administration and the Board, allowing both sides to reach a temporary settlement.

Following this meeting, calm was restored on campus, and the commencement ceremony will proceed as planned.

However, sources close to the matter have indicated that the Board of Trustees may revisit their concerns and plans after the graduation ceremony, depending on the University’s handling of the situation in the coming weeks.

As of now, the university community is preparing for the February 22 event, which will mark a significant milestone for graduating students.

The Board's future actions remain uncertain, leaving room for potential further discussions after the ceremony concludes.
