MRUYP -LC Congratulates UP on Victory, Wants Young People Interest, Others Prioritize

MONROVIA: The Mano River Union Youth Parliament Liberia Chapter (MRUYP-LC) is congratulating Unity Party of Amb Joseph Boakai and Nimba County Senator Jeremiah Koung on their elections as President and Vice President-elect with a call to prioritize the interest of young people across the country.

MRUYP-LC also wants the Boakai-Koung Administration to demonstrate respect for the rule of law, democracy, and good governance.

MRUYP-LC through its speaker Daniel Nills made the statements at a news conference on Wednesday, November 22 in Monrovia.

The Youth Parliament Liberia’s chapter also used the medium to appreciate the outgoing President George Manneh Weah and Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor for graciously accepting the election results announced by the National Elections Commission.

"This move by the Liberian leader has set Liberia so high in the African region and the world at large in the practice of modern democracy and upholding the rule of law by letting the will of the people prevail. This is laudable" Speaker Nills stated.

The MRUYP-LC further thanked the National Elections Commission for peacefully, democratically, and constitutionally conducting the October 10, 2023, Presidential and Legislative and subsequently the November 14, 2023, Presidential runoff election in the country.

Meanwhile, the MRUYP-LC has commended the Liberian people for their smooth and peaceful participation in the elections, and the national government and international partners for their support.

Ambassador Boakai, Standard Bearer, and his Vice Standard Bearer Koung won the November 14, 2023, Presidential runoff Election on the ticket of the Unity Party.
