Shame to Ronaldo: Al Nassr Halts Contract Renewal Talks for Failure of Winning Major Titles

With less than two months to the expiration of Cristiano Ronaldo's two-and-a-half-year contract with Al Nassr, the Saudi Arabian club has reportedly suspended negotiations for an extension of the Portuguese's stay, amidst concerns of delivering major titles to the club.
According to TyC Sports, an international media outlet, Al Nassr decision to suspend contract renewal talk for the 40-year-old Portuguese's superstar comes in fell of high expectations of securing major trophies with the football icon since joining the club in January 2023.
According to reports the losses in the Saudi Super Cup, the King’s Cup, and the AFC Champions League Elite competition, and with the team also out of contention for the league title for two seasons, Al Nassr’s management has started to question Ronaldo’s future with the club.
"Now, with just 45 days remaining on his contract, they have decided to suspend renewal negotiations", reports indcate as disappointment looms over Ronaldo’s contributions.
Since joining the club, the five-time Ballon D'or winner has managed to secure only the Arab Club Champions Cup with Al Nassr, an unofficial tournament that returned in 2023 after a long hiatus and will not be held in 2024.
He has missed out on the Saudi Pro League twice, fell short in the Asian Champions League, lost the Saudi Super Cup three times, and now suffered back-to-back eliminations in the King’s Cup, with this latest loss coming in the Round of 16 against Al Taawon.
However, Ronaldo has scored 97 goals in 109 matches for Al Nassr, but is still in search to add a major honor to the Club's 28 official trophies across all competitions.
