Transport Ministry to Shut Down Vehicle and Driver Registration Systems

Monrovia, Liberia: The Ministry of Transport has announced that all new motor vehicle and driver license registrations under the Tax Administration and LISTAX systems will be discontinued effective February 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.
Authorities say the measure forms part of an administrative transition designed to transfer vehicle registration and driver licensing services to Liberia Traffic Management Incorporated (LTMI).
In an inter-office memorandum, the Ministry instructed junior ministers to acknowledge the directive and implement the necessary administrative adjustments ahead of the shutdown.
The Ministry stated that the decision is intended to ensure a smooth and orderly transition of services.
