Yarnwuellie Health Facility Staff Urge County Leadership to Provide Medical Supplies

By: Moses P. Gibson

MARGIBI: The staff of Yarnwuellie Health Facility in Tarnwuellie Town, Gibi District, Margibi County, have called on the county leadership to assist the clinic with urgently needed medical supplies. Speaking to our reporter, Shedrach William, a staff member, highlighted several challenges affecting the facility’s operations, including the lack of basic amenities.

Among the critical issues outlined were the absence of a water system for the labor room, and the lack of latrines, forcing patients to use the surrounding community. He also noted the deplorable condition of the maternal and child health unit, which is in dire need of attention.

William emphasized the importance of improving maternal care, particularly for pregnant women who are in their late stages of pregnancy. He explained that due to poor road conditions, many women struggle to reach the clinic during labor, leading to serious complications.

He called on the county leadership and the national government to intervene by completing the maternity project initiated by former district #5 representative candidate Jonathan Sarh Cooper during the October 2023 elections. William also urged authorities to provide much-needed medical supplies to ensure the facility can adequately serve the community.
