Fire Outbreak on Runway at Roberts International Airport leaves one seriously injured

Margibi County, Liberia A fire broke out on a section of the runway at Roberts International Airport (RIA) late Tuesday afternoon, causing a brief disruption in operations.

The fire reportedly began near the airport's perimeter, with investigations pointing to an invasion by the 04. Although the exact cause remains under investigation, the situation was swiftly addressed by the airport's emergency response teams.
According to Ernest Sharpe, the Corporate Communication Director for the RIA, the Airport’s Fire and Rescue Department responded promptly to contain the blaze. “Our emergency services acted quickly and effectively to prevent the fire from spreading further,” Sharks stated in an interview with our correspondent in Margibi. The situation was quickly brought under control, and the airport’s operations resumed without any major delays.
Shape also assured the public that no death has been reported in connection with the fire. "We are thankful that no lives were lost," he added. While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, airport authorities are working diligently to identify any potential safety lapses that could have led to the outbreak.
In the wake of the incident, Sharpe has issued a stern warning to the public about the dangers of mishandling fire near the airport premises. “We urge all citizens to refrain from using fire or engaging in any activity that could pose a risk around the airport property,” he stressed.

Authorities have reassured the public that safety measures are being thoroughly reviewed to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.
Meanwhile, Kool has independently investigated and found out that there was casualty even though no death.
A lady only recognized as Brenda, a firefighter at the airport sustained a serious injury on her left arm ( broken arm ).
Our sources have told Kool News that the injured firefighter has since been taken to the 14th Military Hospital for medical attention by the airport management.
