Capitol Hill, Liberia: Lawmakers gathered at the Executive Mansion following the election of Speaker Richard Nangwa Kone, with President Joseph Boakai and Vice President Jeremiah Koung in attendance. However, some members, including key representatives and former Speaker Jonathan Fonati Koffa, were absent.

After the meeting, Bong County lawmaker Eugene Kollie criticized the process, claiming members were misled about who called the meeting and raising concerns about internal procedures. While some lawmakers expressed frustration and felt sidelined, others signaled readiness to work with the new leadership.

Here is a report of the meeting.
