Liberia Partners with Chinese Developer for Multi-Million Dollar Tourism and Housing Project

Shenzhen City:The Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism, has agreed on a deal with a major real estate developer from China. This agreement is about building hotels, housing, and amusement parks in Liberia to boost tourism specifically in the southeast.

This initiative aims to enhance Liberia’s growing tourism sector and attract future investments. Hotels and housing are crucial for improving tourism, which has been a key focus in Liberia’s national development plan since January 2024.

The agreement was signed at a trade forum in Shenzhen City. Liberia’s Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism, Jerolinmek Matthew Piah, signed for Liberia, while Zheng Xudong signed for Shanghai Black Rock Lake Enterprise Development Co., Ltd. from China.

Shanghai Black Rock Lake Enterprise Development Co., Ltd. is experienced in real estate, project management, and sustainable construction. They plan to develop serviced apartments, high-end shopping centers, and luxury residences in and around Monrovia. According to the agreement, they will create an international community in the southern coastal area of Monrovia, covering about 60 acres, including hotels, apartments, and entertainment areas like amusement parks.

 

The project is expected to create over 200 jobs and require a total investment of approximately $20 million. “

 

The firm is committed to developing similar projects in the Monrovia area, further enhancing the city’s aesthetics, increasing local employment, and promoting economic growth.

The signing of the MOU is indicative of China’s confidence in investment in Liberia, which will enhance and accelerate economic growth.
